Job Requirements

  • Ability to work specified hours including days, rotating weekends and holidays
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen equipment maintenance
  • Ability to train and supervise staff
  • Commitment to organizational values and mission

Job Duties

  • Prepares assigned food items to include main entrees, features, food items for resident meal service and other special functions
  • Completes preparation efficiently and in accordance with set departmental standards
  • Makes recommendations to leadership for future menus
  • Creates daily cleaning schedule within department including individual work area, equipment used, and storage areas
  • Inputs all online work orders and coordinates with Facility Services to ensure equipment maintenance
  • Schedules production staff members and trains and cross trains incoming staff
  • Acts as buyer/handler for all needed kitchen products
  • Assists leadership in compiling standard recipes
  • Checks food quality, product, and food production
