The Lead Cashier position at the Westminster Augusta location (3067 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA 30909) is a vital full-time role designed to maintain exceptional guest service standards while efficiently managing point of sale transactions and supervising cashier staff. This position operates Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, offering a competitive pay range of $12.00 to $15.00 per hour. Ideal candidates will have prior cashiering and point of sale experience and will thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring meticulous attention to detail and leadership skills.

The role of Lead Cashier involves direct interaction with guests, managing cash transactions, and ensuring compliance with company policies and loss prevention protocols. This position also requires overseeing daily scheduling and productivity of cashier associates, training new cashiers, and supporting overall front-end operations including merchandise handling and guest service assistance. Lead Cashiers are responsible for preparing daily deposits and managing cash controls, some locations providing access to safe combinations and keys.

Job Requirements

  • Previous cashiering and point of sale experience required

Job Duties

  • Greets and acknowledges every guest
  • maintains solid product knowledge
  • provides outstanding guest service
  • oversees and authorizes guest returns, exchanges, merchandise credits, check authorization, charge sends, rain checks and discretion discounts
  • assures the completion of all PoS transactions and the proper control of cash and media at PoS registers
  • helps train cashiers and crosstrains other associates
  • helps prepare daily deposits, change and media
  • ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and practices
  • supports loss-prevention efforts
  • oversees the productivity, breaks and daily scheduling of cashiers
  • communicates performance issues to management
  • maintains front-end supplies
  • helps provide guest service, floor moves, housekeeping, display maintenance and merchandise replenishment as needed
  • covers cashier shifts when call-offs occur
  • performs other duties as assigned
