The Lead Cashier at Ulta Beauty plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional guest experience while ensuring the efficiency and excellence of all cash wrap operations. This position is responsible for maintaining cash wrap standards, including cleanliness and aesthetics, and ensuring seamless, accurate guest transactions. The Lead Cashier supports the training and development of new cashiers and cross-trains other associates, demonstrating proactive leadership, collaboration, and influence within the team to foster a positive and productive work environment. They contribute significantly to sales goals through a sharp focus on guest service, loyalty program engagement, and credit sales, while upholding Ulta Beauty’s high standards of operational compliance and loss prevention.
As a champion of Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, the Lead Cashier drives loyalty results by effectively promoting and enrolling guests in the loyalty program and credit offerings. This role also involves assisting store leadership with opening and closing register functions, performing associate exit inspections, and managing cashier shift interactions. A passion for delivering personalized service and a thorough understanding of Ulta Beauty’s product offerings enable the Lead Cashier to create an engaging and memorable experience for guests. Additionally, they play an essential role in maintaining store presentation and safety standards while safeguarding company assets.
Ideal candidates will have at least two years of relevant retail or customer service experience, with demonstrated skills in training and mentoring, multi-tasking, and problem-solving under pressure. Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and related technology is important, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Flexibility to work varied schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays is required, along with the eligibility to work in a role that cannot be held by minors (must be 18 years or older).

Job Requirements
- Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to continuously move throughout the store
- Frequent bending, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 25 lbs
- Strong coordination and manual dexterity

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- Minimum two years of relevant retail or customer service experience

Job Duties
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s retail and service sales goals
- Provide exceptional guest service including greeting and engaging guests
- Handle sales transactions, refunds, and exchanges courteously
- Support booking and execution of in-store services and events
- Maintain cashwrap cleanliness and organization
- Assist in training new cashiers and cross-training associates
- Ensure compliance with company policies and cash handling procedures
