The Lead Cashier at Ulta Beauty plays a crucial role in maintaining excellent transaction efficiency and upholding the highest standards of the cashwrap area, including cleanliness and visual appeal. This role requires expertise in cashiering, leadership capabilities in training new cashiers, and cross-training other associates. The Lead Cashier actively drives customer loyalty programs and sales performance, focusing on guest experience, associate training, and adherence to company processes and policies. They support leadership teams during critical register functions such as opening and closing, as well as performing associate exit inspections.

Job Requirements
- Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Continuous mobility throughout the store during shift
- Frequent bending, pulling, pushing, crouching, stooping, twisting, and reaching
- Frequent lifting or moving up to 25 pounds
- Ability to use good judgment in ambiguous situations
- Ability to adapt and be flexible
- Adhere to company dress code
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- Two years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve
- Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service and competency for selling
- Experience addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Demonstrated experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires
- Proficient with basic technology such as Point of Sale systems and Apple devices
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Ability to react under pressure and use good judgment
Job Duties
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty including credit, and retail shrink
- Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by providing a guest-friendly environment, greeting and engaging each guest, personalizing service to their needs, and recommending Ulta Beauty products and/or services
- Courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges
- Take ownership over the replenishment, organization, and maintenance of all cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures
- Support the leadership team by completing cashier chat ins and chat outs as well as associate exit inspections as needed
- Assist in the training of new cashiers and cross-training other associates in cashiering
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including proper control of all cash and media at the cashwrap
- Maintain outstanding store standards and cleanliness
- Exercise loss prevention and workplace safety measures
- Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business
