The Lead Cashier position at Ulta Beauty plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and excellence of guest transactions at the cashwrap area. This role goes beyond basic cashier responsibilities, serving as a leader within the store’s associate team. The Lead Cashier supports the operational flow of transactions by maintaining cleanliness, adhering to cashwrap standards, and consistently delivering a welcoming experience to guests. Key responsibilities include training new cashiers and mentoring other associates in cashier functions, which fosters a team-oriented and multi-skilled workforce. The Lead Cashier is also responsible for driving loyalty program engagement with guests, including promoting Ulta Beauty's credit offerings and facilitating app usage for enhanced loyalty benefits. Sales performance, guest engagement, and operational compliance are integral to the role, with a focus on supporting the broader leadership team through tasks such as register opening and closing, associate inspections, and managing cashier communications.

Job Requirements

high school diploma preferred
2 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
must be 18 years of age or older
physical ability to perform duties including frequent bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, continuous mobility, and coordination of objects
commitment to maintaining store standards, policies, and safety
excellent attendance and reliability
strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty including credit, and retail shrink
ensure each guest receives exceptional service by providing a guest-friendly environment, greeting and engaging each guest, personalizing service to their needs, and recommending products and services
courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges
ensure each guest receives personalized makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and guest experience
book appointments and support execution of services and in-store events while delivering sales goals
take ownership of replenishment, organization, and maintenance of all cashwrap displays and supplies
maintain prompt and regular attendance
