The Lead Cashier (LC) position at Ulta Beauty is a vital role within the store’s operations. Job Requirements
- Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Lead Cashier must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including frequent bending, pulling, pushing, crouching, stooping, twisting, and reaching
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs
- Must have continuous mobility and coordination during shifts
- Adherence to Ulta Beauty dress code
- Availability to comply with company policies and standards
- Eligibility to work in the location and pass any required background checks
- Willingness to engage in learning and training opportunities
- Ability to provide exceptional guest service at all times
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve
- Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service and competency for selling
- Experience addressing guests concerns and questions promptly and professionally
- Demonstrated experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires
- Proficient with basic technology such as Point of Sale systems and Apple devices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Ability to react under pressure and use good judgment
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work conditions
Job Duties
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty including credit, and retail shrink
- Ensure exceptional guest service by greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service, and recommending products and services
- Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously
- Pair guests with associates for makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience
- Book appointments and support in-store events to deliver an unrivaled guest experience
- Take ownership of replenishment, organization, and maintenance of cashwrap displays and impulse fixtures
- Support the leadership team with open and close register functions, cashier chat ins and chat outs, and associate exit inspections
- Assist in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including cash and media controls
- Maintain store cleanliness including the cashwrap, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, and break areas
- Protect company assets and minimize loss by adhering to store standards and loss prevention practices
- Stay informed on industry trends, product knowledge, and loyalty programs to better serve guests
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance professional development and drive sales performance
- Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business and drive cashier accountability in delivering the Ulta Beauty brand experience
