The Lead Cashier position at Ulta Beauty offers a unique role centered around ensuring the efficiency of guest transactions and maintaining excellence at the cashwrap area. As a Lead Cashier, the individual is responsible for setting and upholding high standards of cleanliness and aesthetics at the checkout areas and providing exceptional customer service. Job Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- Two years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to continuously move throughout the store during shift including twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, crouching, stooping, and reaching
- Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 lbs
- Ability to coordinate and manipulate objects continuously during shift
- Must adhere to company dress code and policies
- Must complete cash and transaction handling duties accurately
- Must comply with workplace safety and loss prevention procedures
- Must participate in ongoing training and development

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- Two years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve
- Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service and selling
- Experience addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Experience exceeding sales goals and training new hires
- Proficient with basic technology such as Point of Sale systems and Apple devices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment, and be adaptable.
Job Duties
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty including credit, and retail shrink
- Ensure that each guest receives exceptional service by providing a guest-friendly environment, greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service, and recommending products or services
- Courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges
- Ensure each guest receives personalized service by pairing them with associates for makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations
- Book appointments and support the execution of in-store services and events
- Maintain replenishment, organization, and maintenance of cashwrap displays and supplies
- Support leadership with cashier chat ins and chat outs and associate exit inspections
- Assist in training new cashiers and cross-training associates
- Drive cashier accountability for delivering the Ulta Beauty brand experience and following systems prompts
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards at the cashwrap
- Complete open and close register functions as directed
- Maintain overall store cleanliness including cashwrap, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, and break areas
- Protect company assets and minimize loss by enforcing store standards and operating procedures
- Participate in ongoing training for professional development and sales performance.
