The role of Lead Cashier at Ulta Beauty is a vital position that ensures the smooth and efficient operation of guest transactions while maintaining high standards of professionalism, cleanliness, and overall aesthetics at the cashwrap area. The Lead Cashier is experienced in cashiering functions and plays a leadership role by assisting in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates. This position involves engaging guests by promoting loyalty benefits, including Ulta Beauty's loyalty program and credit offerings, thereby driving sales and enhancing guest experience. The Lead Cashier also supports the leadership team with critical tasks such as opening and closing registers, conducting associate exit inspections, and reviewing cashier chat in/outs to maintain process integrity.

This position demands a passion for delivering exceptional guest service, a sharp focus on operational excellence, and the ability to influence and mentor peers toward achieving store goals. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma preferred
  • two years of relevant work experience or equivalent education and experience
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to perform physical tasks including bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and continuous movement
  • proficiency with point of sale system and basic technology
  • excellent communication skills

Job Duties

  • contribute to meeting or exceeding the store's goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty including credit, and retail shrink
  • ensure exceptional guest service by greeting and engaging each guest, personalizing service, and recommending products and services
  • handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously
  • pair guests with associates for makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations
  • book appointments for and support in-store events to deliver exceptional guest experiences
  • maintain and organize cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures
  • support leadership with register open and close functions and associate exit inspections
