The Lead Cashier role at Ulta Beauty is a pivotal position contributing directly to the efficiency and excellence of customer transactions and the overall cashwrap experience. This is a hands-on position requiring cashiering expertise, the ability to maintain aesthetic and cleanliness standards at the cashwrap, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. The Lead Cashier supports the leadership team by assisting in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates while modeling Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values. The primary responsibilities of the Lead Cashier involve fostering guest engagement to exceed sales, service, and loyalty goals. As a training resource, the Lead Cashier equips new cashiers with skills and knowledge essential for Ulta Beauty’s seamless service delivery. This role also requires participation in store operational tasks such as register open and close, associate exit inspections, and cashier chat ins/outs.

With a pay range of $16.90 - $24.75 per hour, the compensation is competitive and based on various factors such as education, experience, shift, and location. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Two years of relevant work experience or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, pulling, pushing, crouching, stooping, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Proficient with Point of Sale systems
  • Excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Contribute to meeting or exceeding store retail, service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty, and retail shrink goals
  • Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by greeting, engaging, personalizing service, and recommending products or services
  • Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously
  • Book appointments and support in-store events to deliver superior guest experiences and meet sales goals
  • Maintain and organize cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures to ensure guest readiness
  • Assist in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates
  • Complete register open and close functions, cashier chat ins and outs, and associate exit inspections as directed
