The Lead Cashier position at Ulta Beauty is a critical role focused on ensuring the efficiency and excellence of guest transactions while upholding the highest cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and an overall inviting aesthetic. As an experienced cashier, the Lead Cashier takes on the responsibility of training new cashiers and cross-training other associates. This role requires a proactive leader who can collaboratively influence peers and contribute to the store's success by enhancing sales performance, guest experience, and loyalty program engagement.

Specifically, the Lead Cashier drives vital store objectives across performance, people, and process domains. This includes contributing to retail and service sales goals, omni-channel operations, guest loyalty including credit offerings, and minimizing retail shrink. The Lead Cashier ensures each guest receives personalized, exceptional service—greeting and engaging guests, recommending appropriate products and services, handling transactions with professionalism, and facilitating makeup applications or skincare consultations when needed.

Supporting store leadership, the role involves managing register opening and closing functions, performing associate exit inspections, and maintaining cashier chat ins and chat outs. The Lead Cashier embodies a passion for delivering outstanding guest service and operational excellence. This position also contributes to building an inclusive, team-oriented atmosphere, sharing knowledge of industry trends and product benefits, and fostering loyalty program participation. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • continuous mobility throughout the store including frequent bending, pulling, pushing, crouching, stooping, twisting, and reaching
  • frequent lifting and moving up to 25 pounds
  • compliance with company policies including dress code and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred
  • 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
