Job Description
SusieCakes is a beloved bakery chain dedicated to making old-fashioned, sentimental dessert favorites just like you may remember from your childhood. The ambiance of each bakery is filled with the delicious tastes and sweet smells of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies, and bars — all baked from scratch, on-site daily, using the freshest and finest ingredients. Known for their signature Celebration Cake, which has become a birthday staple on tens of thousands of tables, SusieCakes combines the nostalgia of classic homemade desserts with the warmth and feel of a modern neighborhood bakery. The company’s mission, "Connecting through Celebration," reflects their dedication to bringing joy and connecting people through their delicious products. This ethos is not only evident in their desserts but also in the way they interact with their team members, guests, and local communities.
Working at SusieCakes offers a vibrant and dynamic environment where hospitality is more than just a skill — it’s a gene. Team members at SusieCakes understand the importance of their roles and are empowered to make days better by crafting delightful experiences for guests. The bakeries are lively and bustling hubs where friendly, passionate individuals come together to celebrate special moments and everyday joys alike. The position available is a key role in maintaining the company’s high standards for quality and guest satisfaction by preparing all SusieCakes product offerings — including custom and specialty cakes — exactly as guests request. This role entails meeting daily production goals while upholding strict quality standards that ensure every bite continues to evoke nostalgia and happiness.
As a member of the team, you will be responsible for creating a variety of bakery items from scratch, like cakes, cookies, pies, bars, puddings, and buttercreams. Leadership opportunities include directing a team in mixing, baking, decorating, and inscribing products efficiently and with artistic flair. Additionally, you will manage product inventory levels carefully to minimize waste and avoid overproduction. Compliance with all food safety codes and standards is paramount, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment. You will also assist with guest orders and collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth business operations. This role is perfect for individuals who are detail-oriented, enjoy working in a lively bakery environment, and thrive on delivering exceptional hospitality. The employment is full-time with flexible scheduling options, including weekends and holidays, and offers competitive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and generous employee discounts on their delicious desserts.
