Job Description

The Emerald Queen Casino is a prominent gaming and entertainment establishment operated by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians in Washington State. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, exceptional service, and diverse gaming options, this casino offers guests an unparalleled experience combining excitement, dining, and entertainment all under one roof. As a key player in the local hospitality and gaming industry, the Emerald Queen Casino is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for both employees and patrons alike. The casino adheres to strict regulatory guidelines and places a strong emphasis on workforce diversity and Indian Preference in employment, underscoring its dedication to community values and equal opportunity practices.

The role of Lead Beverage Server at the Emerald Queen Casino is a dynamic and integral position within the casino's beverage and food service team. This role requires an experienced professional who will serve cocktails and food, accept money and provide accurate change, stock supplies, and assist bartenders as necessary. The Lead Beverage Server is also responsible for overseeing and ensuring the satisfactory completion of assigned tasks by all beverage servers, playing a pivotal role in maintaining high-quality service standards throughout the gaming floor and dining areas.

This position offers an hourly starting pay of $17.61 plus tips, with a scheduled increase to $18.50 plus tips following the successful completion of a 90-day orientation period. The Lead Beverage Server acts as a leader and mentor by assisting in the training of new beverage servers, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment. Candidates for this role should have strong communication skills, a good character, and motivation to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes smoke-filled environment. Physical stamina is required as servers will need to stand and walk for extended periods, carry trays up to 25 pounds, and climb stairs regularly.

Applicants must hold a valid TIPS certification and Health Card, possess the ability to work with Micro's POS system, and have at least one year of experience serving cocktails. Additionally, candidates must be willing and able to work various shifts, including day, swing, graveyard, and holiday schedules. Compliance with regulations includes obtaining a Class III B license from the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory; however, marijuana use will not disqualify applicants unless driving a company vehicle is part of the job duties.

The Emerald Queen Casino is steadfast in its commitment to equal employment opportunity and embraces the Indian Preference in hiring as mandated by the Puyallup Tribe. This ensures that qualified Native American candidates receive priority in consideration, aligning with tribal employment policies. The Lead Beverage Server role is a rewarding opportunity for those looking to advance their careers in the hospitality and gaming industry within a supportive and professionally enriching environment.
