The company fosters a culture of excellence and encourages its team members to engage with guests in meaningful ways, contributing to memorable stays and outstanding service reputations.
The position of Lead Bartender plays a crucial role within Charlestowne Hotels’ food and beverage operations. This role is centered on leading the bar team to deliver excellent guest experiences through a combination of outstanding customer service, innovative cocktail creation, and expert knowledge of local craft beers and wines. The Lead Bartender is responsible not only for mixing and serving drinks but also for developing specialty cocktail programs that enhance the overall dining and bar experience offered at the hotel properties. This leadership role involves training staff to ensure consistency and quality, overseeing all cocktail recipes, and maintaining inventory control to support smooth operations.
More than just preparing beverages, the Lead Bartender acts as an ambassador of the hotel's hospitality, interacting with guests to understand their preferences, offering recommendations, and ensuring satisfaction throughout their visit. This includes checking identification to comply with legal drinking age requirements, staying guest-focused, and engaging regularly with customers to ensure a positive and enjoyable atmosphere. Within the scope of responsibilities, the Lead Bartender also manages opening and closing duties, cash handling, and adheres rigorously to food and beverage laws and regulations.
Success in this role demands excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks, a deep understanding of classic and contemporary cocktails, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, as work during nights, weekends, and holidays will align with business demands. Physical stamina is also necessary due to the active nature of the work environment, which involves prolonged standing, lifting, and movement in variable temperature conditions. Charlestowne Hotels offers a $750 sign-on bonus as an incentive, recognizing the valuable contribution of the Lead Bartender to its vibrant hospitality team.
