The Post Oak Hotel is esteemed as the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas, renowned for delivering unparalleled luxury and exceptional guest experiences. This prestigious hotel is committed to hiring passionate and professional colleagues who consistently strive to delight guests through curated and authentic experiences. As a cornerstone of hospitality excellence, The Post Oak Hotel stands out not only for its sophisticated amenities but also for its deep dedication to maintaining a positive and respectful work environment that values diversity and opportunity for advancement. The hotel offers a unique workplace culture where teamwork, integrity, and excellence are not just encouraged but are fundamental to their operations.
The Lead Barista position at The Post Oak Hotel is a vital role within the food and beverage department, responsible for leading and inspiring the barista team to deliver a memorable guest experience. This role entails preparing and serving high-quality espresso-based coffee drinks and an array of other beverages, contributing significantly to the overall guest satisfaction. As a Lead Barista, you will manage daily operations within the coffee service area, delegate tasks to team members to ensure a seamless flow of service, and uphold the hotel’s gold-standard customer service practices. Your ability to interact warmly and professionally with guests reflects the high standards of the hotel and enhances the overall ambiance.
In addition to managing a team, the Lead Barista must possess thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and preparation techniques, enabling them to answer guest inquiries accurately and enthusiastically. Coordination with the kitchen team is essential to ensure all orders are prepared and delivered promptly, maintaining both accuracy and aesthetically pleasing presentation. Furthermore, this role requires monitoring guest satisfaction continuously and professionally addressing concerns or complaints, escalating issues to management when necessary. Adherence to all federal and state laws, including tip regulations as per the Fair Labor Standards Act, is critical to maintaining compliance and fairness in tip reporting.
The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $16.00, plus gratuities, underscoring the valued skill set required to succeed in this role. This is typically a tipped position, meaning that employees have the opportunity to significantly enhance their earnings through excellent guest service. Given the hotel’s luxury status and high-volume operations, the Lead Barista must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, while maintaining a consistently high level of performance. Physical stamina is also necessary, as the role involves prolonged periods of standing and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Joining The Post Oak Hotel means becoming part of an organization that offers multiple benefit plans tailored to meet diverse employee needs, including paid time off, a 401K plan, and generous employee discounts on dining, retail, amusements, and hotel stays. The hotel encourages community involvement with volunteer opportunities and provides complimentary parking and colleague meals. Advance your career in an environment that fosters growth, collaboration, and a sincere commitment to excellence. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and passionate barista leader to thrive within a luxury hospitality setting, delivering first-class service every day.
