We are currently seeking a dedicated Lead Barista for a full-time position based at UMASS MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER - MEMORIAL CAMPUS. This role offers a competitive pay rate ranging from $19.00 to $20.00 per hour, focusing on morning shifts with varying days. More detailed scheduling information will be communicated during the interview process. As part of the Sodexo team, the Lead Barista plays a vital role in enhancing customer experience by crafting specialty coffee and beverages, ensuring quality and consistency at every service. The Lead Barista acts not only as a beverage artisan but also as a fair-trade advocate, supporting sustainable and ethical sourcing practices. Responsibilities include preparing an array of hot and cold drinks such as espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, and fruit blend beverages, while maintaining cleanliness and organization of all work areas including coffee machines, preparation zones, restrooms, and dining spaces. This role also involves handling financial transactions accurately using cash registers, recording all sales, and ensuring customer satisfaction through friendly and efficient service.

Additionally, the Lead Barista serves as a team leader, fostering teamwork, adaptability, and a safe work environment. This position requires punctuality and reliability, with the flexibility to perform other duties as required by business needs or client requests. Candidates are expected to bring prior experience in customer service, food preparation, sanitation, and inventory control, with Starbucks Barista certification being a possible requirement for some locations.
