This position of Coffee Shop Supervisor is based at the Grand Rapids, Michigan location and plays a pivotal role in ensuring top-tier customer service and operational success within the coffee shop department. The supervisor is tasked with directing and supervising all coffee shop associates, helping provide a consistently high standard of service to every guest. This role is fundamental in reaching the department’s sales and profit objectives, ensuring store shifts are managed effectively to support the overall financial health of the store.

The Coffee Shop Supervisor will oversee inventory control, guaranteeing that coffee shop products are fresh, of high quality, and properly rotated. Responsibilities also encompass verifying and receiving inventory deliveries, preparing beverages to company standards, and handling spoiled or damaged products according to established policies. Training and developing team members on department functions and suggestive selling techniques are key facets of this role, as is managing team scheduling and productivity to meet or exceed targets.

This role requires familiarity with all coffee shop products, understanding their differences in price, taste, preparation, and use, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked, and attractive department environment. Additional duties may be assigned to adapt to evolving business needs. Job Duties

  • order and maintain inventory control to ensure freshness, product quality and turnover
  • check and verify receivables for amount, quality, count or weight, condition and store in appropriate areas
  • brew, mix, blend beverages according to set standards
  • handle spoiled or damaged products per established guidelines
  • train others to perform all department activities and functions, including suggestive selling techniques
  • manage the selection, scheduling, and supervision of others to meet or exceed departmental productivity levels
  • have familiarity with all products carried in the department
  • know differences in price, taste, preparation, use etc
  • prepare food items according to procedures
  • maintain a clean, attractive and well stocked department
  • additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
