The role of Lead Barista at Sodexo presents a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about coffee and customer service to take a leadership position within a dynamic team. This full-time position offers a pay range of $17 to $18 per hour and requires flexibility with varying shifts and hours, with a preference for open availability. As a Lead Barista, you will be more than just a coffee maker; you will be an artist and advocate for fair-trade practices, crafting high-quality beverages and food that brighten customers' days. Your responsibilities include greeting customers, taking and preparing beverage orders such as coffee, espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, teas, and specialty fruit blends, as well as operating cash registers and managing transactions. You will also ensure that all work areas, including preparation and serving spaces, remain clean, organized, and welcoming.

Beyond the technical skills of beverage preparation and cash handling, the Lead Barista will play a vital role in creating a positive, safe, and inclusive workplace culture. This involves attending all scheduled shifts punctually, maintaining sanitation standards, and supporting team members and customers alike. Previous experience in customer service, food preparation, and inventory control is preferred, and some locations may require Starbucks Barista certification. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Open availability preferred
  • Experience in food service or customer-facing roles
  • Punctuality and reliable attendance
  • Ability to operate cash registers and handle transactions

Job Qualifications

  • Previous related experience in customer service, food preparation, sanitation and inventory control preferred
  • Starbucks Barista certification may be required at some locations
  • Team-oriented and adaptable
  • Reliable with a commitment to nurturing a safe and healthy work environment

Job Duties

  • Greet customers, take orders, mix and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, cafe latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks
  • Record all sales, collect cash/credit card/electronic payments and operate a cash register
  • Clean coffee machines, restaurant areas, restrooms and preparation areas
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
