The organization invests in its team members by providing ongoing development opportunities, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive work environment. As part of its mission to advance healthcare excellence, Corewell Health operates a variety of services including nutrition and food service departments that support the well-being of individuals within hospital settings.
Located at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI, Corewell Health offers a full-time Lead Starbucks Barista position. This role functions within a fast-paced, dynamic environment and involves maintaining shift accountability for Nutrition Services. The Lead Barista ensures the efficient, cost-effective provision of high-quality food and beverage services to Corewell patients, employees, and visitors. This position requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills to address non-routine departmental issues and continually improve the service experience.
The work schedule demands flexibility, with shifts of 8.5 hours between early morning and evening (5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) coverage from Monday through Sunday, including every other weekend. The role requires proficiency with specialized kitchen equipment and a thorough understanding of hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The Lead Barista is expected to uphold rigorous food safety standards, perform quality assurance monitoring, and manage cash operations accurately. By maintaining excellent customer service standards, the Lead Barista helps create a welcoming and positive atmosphere, vital to Corewell Health’s mission of inspiring hope and fostering community well-being.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals with prior food service experience, especially in healthcare settings, who seek to apply their skills in a leadership role. Corewell Health supports career growth by offering comprehensive benefits tailored to financial, health, and work-life balance needs, including retirement plans, identity theft protection, a discounts directory, and an on-demand pay program. The organization values inclusion and equity, encouraging team members to bring their whole selves to work and contribute meaningfully to its ongoing success. Applicants can expect a drug-free workplace committed to safety, vaccination compliance, and equal employment opportunity regardless of race, gender identity, or other protected categories.
Joining Corewell Health as a Lead Starbucks Barista represents a chance to be part of a mission-driven team focused on delivering outstanding nutritional services in a clinical environment.
