The Retail Bakery Supervisor role at Whole Foods Market demands a passionate and skilled professional dedicated to preparing and baking high-quality goods that align with Whole Foods’ superior quality standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 14 months retail experience
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing and walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift
  • Use of hands for grasping, manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to perform bending, twisting, squatting and reaching motions
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including knives and heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Thorough product, production, and equipment knowledge for bakery items

Job Duties

  • Mixes, divides, shapes, proofs, and bakes bread and other bakery products to approved Whole Foods Market specifications
  • Maintains accurate mix times, temperature logs, and production records
  • Develops, adjusts, and communicates daily production schedules with other bakers and team
  • Ensures consistency of daily production in terms of quantity and quality of finished products
  • Routinely assesses production outcomes to maintain quality standards
  • Prepares, packages, weighs, and prices products for sale
  • Monitors product quality and freshness and ensures proper product rotation
  • Models and delivers outstanding customer service
  • Mentors, coaches, and trains bakers on proper execution of bakery programs
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed and dressed, works all scheduled shifts
  • Provides excellent customer service and addresses needs promptly
  • Maximizes sales potential by effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking and merchandising
  • Follows and ensures compliance with health, sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties including accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Reports safety hazards and violations immediately
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Utilizes proper production tools and reporting to maximize sales and reduce shrink
  • Supports training and onboarding bakers within home store and other locations
