Job Description
DiBella's is a well-established restaurant brand renowned for its dedication to producing the freshest, crispiest Italian bread, which lies at the very heart of the business. Founded on the quality of its bread, DiBella's continues to delight customers by focusing on crafting a product that embodies comfort, home, and tradition. The company's commitment to excellence in bread-making has helped it build a loyal customer base, making bread the most important product in all its stores. DiBella's is a place where quality and customer satisfaction are prioritized, ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional dining experience.
The role of Lead Baker at DiBella's is crucial to maintaining the high standards the brand is known for. This full-time position involves waking up early in the morning to begin the bread-baking process, using the procedures outlined in the DiBella's Bread Manual to ensure every loaf is baked the "DiBella's way." The Lead Baker plays a pivotal role in preparing the bread that defines the restaurant's identity. Punctuality, a dependable mode of transportation, and a positive "can-do" attitude are essential traits for success in this role.
Besides baking, the Lead Baker is also responsible for providing friendly and upbeat customer service, preparing and serving a variety of food items, and helping to complete shift duties. This role offers a stable five-day workweek from Monday to Friday, competitive weekly pay with tips paid weekly, opportunities for advancement, and paid vacation after the first year (for full-time employees). Health benefits are also included for full-time staff, along with complimentary shift meals and discounts on off-duty meals. Notably, this job does not involve working with fryers, enhancing the working environment for those seeking to avoid that setting.
The Lead Baker must accurately follow the location’s par list to determine how much bread to bake daily, maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery, and promptly report any equipment issues. Safety is paramount, requiring the use of all provided safety equipment to protect both crew and guests. The role also involves preparing deli products, such as cheeses, meats, condiments, sauces, and bread, ensuring everything is properly set up and presented. The Lead Baker prepares sandwiches per customer requests, maintains customer service excellence at all times, and keeps all work and food storage areas sanitary and orderly according to Health Department regulations.
Success in this position demands the ability to handle busy periods by developing an efficient work pace, fulfilling all shift duties, and demonstrating a willingness to continually enhance product knowledge. The Lead Baker works under the guidance of managers and is expected to perform other duties as assigned. DiBella's fosters a collaborative work environment aimed at delivering the best dining experience possible for guests. Those passionate about baking and customer service, who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting, will find this an ideal career opportunity.
