Known for its vibrant casino floor, diverse dining options, live entertainment, and exceptional guest services, Emerald Queen Casino strives to provide an unforgettable experience to guests from all walks of life. As a respected employer within the community, the casino offers various career opportunities designed to foster growth, creativity, and teamwork. Emphasizing cultural heritage and community values, the casino creates an inclusive and dynamic work environment committed to excellence and innovation in the hospitality and entertainment industry.
The Lead Baker role at Emerald Queen Casino is a specialized position within the culinary division that focuses on the preparation and coordination of desserts and baked goods across several food service outlets, including restaurants, buffets, and banquet events. This role begins with an hourly wage of $26.87 and increases to $28.66 after successful completion of the 90-day orientation period. The Lead Baker is responsible for ensuring high-quality baked goods meet the established standards for presentation, taste, and safety. This position supports the bakery team by providing leadership, training, and guidance to maintain consistent product quality and timely production.
In addition to hands-on baking tasks, the Lead Baker plays a crucial role in organizing kitchen operations, including managing inventory, coordinating supply orders, and participating in menu preparation. Strong communication skills are critical, as this role frequently liaises with kitchen staff to ensure bakery items are prepared and delivered according to operational timelines and guest expectations. The Lead Baker must demonstrate creativity and precision when crafting a variety of desserts and baked goods, honoring recipes and adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Candidates for this position should be prepared to work flexible schedules, including day, swing, and graveyard shifts as well as holidays, to meet the demands of a 24/7 hospitality operation. A Class III B license, as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office, and pre-employment drug testing are mandatory. While marijuana use is permissible unless the job requires driving, all applicants must comply with the casino's employment standards and tribal hiring preferences.
This position offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic culinary team in a culturally rich environment with substantial scope for professional development and creativity. The Lead Baker will have a direct impact on guest satisfaction through their dedication to quality and leadership in the bakery department, contributing to the overall success of Emerald Queen Casino's food service offerings.
