Job Description

Baptist Health is the region's largest not-for-profit healthcare organization, operating 12 hospitals and employing over 29,000 individuals. With a network that includes 4,500 physicians and nearly 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities, and physician practices, Baptist Health serves Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. The organization is known for its internationally recognized centers of excellence in cancer treatment, cardiovascular care, orthopedics and sports medicine, and neurosciences. Grounded in a faith-based mission of medical excellence, Baptist Health has been consistently recognized by Fortune as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For over the past 26 years. Its reputation is further underscored by being the most awarded healthcare system in South Florida according to the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital Rankings, receiving 63 high-performing honors.

At Baptist Health, the people are what truly set it apart. The culture is rooted in purpose and compassion, with a strong emphasis on creating personal connections that extend beyond the workplace and patient care. Employees often share similar experiences with patients, fueling the organization’s commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare. This deep-seated culture fosters meaningful relationships among colleagues and with the community, making every team member a vital part of the positive impact Baptist Health seeks to make every day.

The organization is also deeply committed to the professional and personal growth of its employees. The "grow our own" philosophy encourages continuous learning and career development through clear pathways, ongoing support, and tuition reimbursement. Employees benefit from comprehensive health and wellness resources designed to go beyond traditional offerings, including opportunities to reduce medical plan deductibles through wellness programs, contributing to lower out-of-pocket healthcare expenses. Together, these initiatives ensure that team members have the support and resources they need to build long-term, fulfilling careers while making a meaningful difference.

The AI Architect role plays a critical part in Baptist Health’s continued advancement in technology, particularly within the artificial intelligence domain. This position is focused on leading the development and communication of target-state architectures, roadmaps, and technology solutions at the product portfolio level. The role encompasses designing high-quality architecture solutions and establishing standards that align closely with current and future business needs. As a leader and strategic thinker, the AI Architect influences leadership decisions, mentors junior architects, and drives technology adoption to meet the organization’s evolving requirements.

Specifically, the AI Architect will own the overall architecture and technical governance for the enterprise AI platform and AI-enabled solutions. This encompasses ensuring that AI capabilities are coherent, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards. The architect works closely with product teams, AI experts, and cloud engineering groups to deliver AI initiatives from concept to operational deployment effectively and securely. The position requires making architecture decisions across various AI domains, including AI platform integration, data connectivity, semantic layers, security, and governance essential for operating AI safely in a regulated healthcare environment.

In this role, you will lead technical discussions with cross-functional stakeholders, set strategic directions for engineering teams, and contribute hands-on work on critical designs and proofs of concept. The AI Architect is crucial in maintaining transparent and defensible architecture decisions through documentation like Architecture Decision Records (ADRs). This position offers a salary range from $137,846.35 to $179,200.26 per year, depending on experience. It is a high-impact role that combines technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership capability to drive innovative AI solutions that enhance patient care and operational efficiency at Baptist Health.
