The Cafe Manager role at Commander’s Palace Market is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the cafe’s daily operations, team culture, and financial performance. This full-time role requires effectively managing both front-of-house and back-of-house activities to ensure an exceptional guest experience and operational excellence. Reporting directly to senior management, the Cafe Manager plays an integral role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service that Commander’s Palace is known for.
The Cafe Manager’s responsibilities encompass a wide range of duties, including hiring, training, and supervising staff to promote a collaborative work environment focused on guest satisfaction. The role demands strong leadership skills to implement cross-training strategies, foster professional growth opportunities for employees, and resolve guest issues with care and efficiency. The manager also drives business performance by controlling inventory, ordering supplies, managing labor costs, and contributing to revenue growth through waste reduction and effective cost control.
In addition, the Cafe Manager must possess strong operational expertise, including proficiency in POS systems, online ordering platforms, IT tools, and daily cash handling procedures. Job Requirements

- Minimum two years of food and beverage management experience
- Prior experience in cafe or fast-casual restaurant management preferred

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Hire, train, supervise, and assist employees in guest service, store maintenance, product knowledge, and product placement
- Interview and recruit new employees and appraise staff performance
- Implement cross-training of employees to maintain productivity
- Focus on exemplary guest service and recover dissatisfied guests
- Maintain safety, cleanliness, sanitation, and food and beverage quality standards
- Provide effective coaching and counseling to staff
- Ensure staff compliance with company policies and store procedures
- Coordinate daily front and back-of-the-house operations
- Develop and maintain staff schedules based on business-level spikes, holiday sales, and other cycles
- Ensure accurate employee hour tracking and timely payroll reporting
- Order and control all operating supplies, food, beverage, and retail products
- Implement inventory plans and maintain proper inventory levels
- Contribute to revenue growth and manage controllable costs
- Demonstrate operational understanding of income statements
- Exhibit knowledge of all food and beverage items and perform all front and back-of-the-house positions
- Proficient in POS, IT systems, online ordering dashboards, MS Office, and Outlook
- Ensure proper cash handling and end-of-day cashouts
- Complete all opening and closing procedures
- Perform other assigned projects and tasks
