Job Requirements

  • Must maintain good attendance and arrive to work on time every day
  • Must have a valid Florida drivers license with a clean record
  • Must be able to safely drive a truck and trailer
  • Must be able to bend, twist, and lift throughout the working day
  • Must be able to use power equipment
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs throughout the working day
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and direct sunlight for long periods of time

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience in lawn and ornamental, pest control, or horticulture industry - preferred
  • GI-BMP Best Management Practices Certificate - preferred
  • Ability to identify various plants and turf species
  • Excellent communication skills with fellow employees and customers
  • Knowledge of how to properly apply pesticides and fertilizers
  • Knowledge of proper calibration of spray equipment
  • Knowledge of turf and ornamental problems (insects, disease, weeds)
  • Ability to work with fellow employees in a cooperative manner
  • Ability to efficiently work independently
  • Experience with operating a Zspray or similar Zero Turn machine
  • Ability and drive to work outside for long periods of time (in extreme temperatures and direct sunlight)
  • Must be able to bend, twist, and lift throughout the working day
  • Must be able to use power equipment
  • Knowledge of how to use a mobile device or tablet
  • Be able to safely drive a truck and trailer

Job Duties

  • Correctly performing IPM - identifying, diagnosing, and treating turf and ornamental issues while on property in a safe manner
  • Applying fertilizers and pesticides to turf and plant material in accordance with State and local regulations
  • Ensure proper mixing of products according to label instructions and product specifications
  • Ensuring the safe and proper operation of tools, vehicles, and equipment
  • Adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain proper inventory levels on truck
  • Maintaining a clean vehicle, trailer, and equipment
  • Maintain constant communication with the Manager to ensure the proper methods/products are being utilized
  • Using proper equipment to perform duties
  • Completing all assigned tickets (jobs) for the day in a timely manner
  • Deliver outstanding customer service in order to maintain customer retention levels
