The position available is part of Lakewood Regional Support, which serves as a central hub providing essential services in various departments including Human Resources, Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Security, Group Reservations, Guest Contact Center, Information Technology, Laundry, and Communications to the hotels under the Loews brand. This role is pivotal in ensuring that guests receive impeccable laundry services during their stay, contributing directly to the comfort and satisfaction of every visitor.
This specific role focuses on the pre-cleaning process of garments, ensuring that all linens and clothing items meet the highest standards before being returned to guests or team members. Responsibilities include removing spots and stains, sorting garments systematically, tagging items accurately, and conducting thorough inspections both before and after cleaning. The role requires operating laundry and steam tunnel equipment, which is essential for removing wrinkles and handling delicate or non-pressable garments. Additionally, finished garments must be carefully prepared by hanging, folding, packaging, and grouping for individual guest returns.
Maintaining cleanliness and operational efficiency in the work area is a crucial part of this job, alongside adhering to safety regulations and hotel policies. The successful candidate must be able to handle physical demands such as lifting and moving laundry items weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as communicating effectively in English with team members, management, and guests. Flexibility in work schedule is required, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays. Prior experience in dry-cleaning or high-volume laundry operations and familiarity with driving cargo vans are preferred but not mandatory.

Job Requirements
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- minimum of six (6) months of experience in a dry-cleaning operation and/or high-volume laundry operation is preferred
- ability to regularly push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs
- ability to communicate effectively in English verbally with team members, leaders and guests
- must be able to work a flexible schedule, nights, weekends and holidays as required
Job Qualifications
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- minimum of six (6) months of experience in a dry-cleaning operation and/or high-volume laundry operation is preferred
- handles the expected number of laundry items per shift (as set by hotel standards or management)
- timely pickup and delivery of guest laundry or linen
- ensures all cleaned items are returned free of stains, properly pressed, tagged and correctly packaged
- prior experience driving cargo vans are preferred
- ability to communicate effectively in English verbally with team members, leaders and guests
- must be able to work a flexible schedule, nights, weekends and holidays as required
Job Duties
- Sorts, tags, and pre-processes garments prior to cleaning
- cleaning
- inspects garments and removes any foreign particles from pockets
- loads garments into cleaning equipment
- removes clean garments from machines and prepares them for required finish work
- sorts and inspects cleaned garments prior to performing finish processing
- operates steam tunnel equipment to remove wrinkles and process delicate and non-pressable garments
- places garments on hangers, folds, boxes and/or bags finished garments
- gathers/verifies/counts/groups garments belonging to individual guests together for return, removes tags
- maintains overall cleanliness of work area and equipment
- promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times
- notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance
- is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow employees
- executes emergency procedures in accordance with Loews Hotels standards
- complies with required safety regulations and procedures
- attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
- maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
- complies with Loews Hotels standards, policies and rules
- recycles whenever possible
