The Laundry Attendant position is a full-time, hourly role situated in Lexington, Kentucky, specifically supporting Marriott and Residence Inn hotels. This role is pivotal in ensuring the laundry department operates seamlessly, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of laundry equipment and an understanding of its operation, ensuring durable and quality maintenance of hotel linens and laundry items. The Laundry Attendant works closely with housekeeping to maintain proper inventory levels, facilitating the timely and efficient supply of linens and laundry items to guest floors. This role requires not only technical laundry expertise but also coordination and communication skills to support overall hotel operations.

The role involves operating washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery with attention to detail in adding chemicals and performing necessary maintenance tasks such as cleaning lint traps. The Laundry Attendant will identify stained or damaged items, deciding whether these require repair, spot treatment, rewash, or disposal. Inspections of cleaned laundry items are essential to meet cleanliness standards before folding and organizing these articles for use. The role demands precision in record-keeping for items laundered. Physical requirements include the ability to move, lift, and transport laundry loads of varying weights, maintain prolonged physical activity throughout shifts, and adhere strictly to safety protocols for handling chemicals and hazardous materials per the established Hazardous Material Management Program.
