Currently, Hotel Equities is seeking a dedicated Laundry Attendant for the Holiday Inn & Suites located in Monterey Park, CA. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction the hotel is known for. The Laundry Attendant will be responsible for cleaning, pressing, and folding clothes and other textile articles, ensuring that all items are handled with care and attention to detail. A critical part of the job is keeping an accurate record of which items belong to which guests or departments, facilitating a smooth and efficient laundry operation.

The Laundry Attendant will also assist guests by consulting on additional laundering-related services that may enhance their experience. This position requires excellent organizational skills to manage the workflow effectively and interpersonal skills to interact positively with both guests and team members. Candidates should be comfortable operating laundering equipment, performing minor sewing repairs, and maintaining inventory records for detergents and sewing kits. The ability to anticipate and address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints is essential, ensuring a high level of service throughout the guest's stay.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is advantageous
  • prior experience in a similar role is preferable
  • familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • capacity to lift up to 20 pounds unaided
  • basic arithmetic skills
  • outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Sorting, washing, drying, pressing, and folding clothing and other textile items
  • removing stains from items using the appropriate procedures
  • performing minor sewing duties
  • tracking which items belong to whom
  • keeping an updated inventory of laundry detergents and sewing kits
  • tracking maintenance and repairs on laundering equipment
  • ensuring that the facility remains clean at all times
  • anticipating and responding to customers' queries, concerns, and complaints
  • keeping sufficient tokens or change for the washing and drying machines, if required
