The Laundry Attendant position at Sheraton Grand Seattle is a full-time, non-management role with a competitive hourly pay rate of $28.73. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and quality that guests expect at Sheraton. The Laundry Attendant will operate and monitor various laundry machinery, including washing machines, dry cleaning equipment, and dryers, ensuring all linens and garments are thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and prepared for use. Responsibilities include identifying stained or damaged linens, handling spot treatments or repairs, folding articles either by hand or with machinery, and maintaining accurate records of laundered items.

In addition to operational tasks, the role requires adherence to company safety and security protocols, reporting any unsafe conditions, and supporting team goals through positive working relationships. The Laundry Attendant must be physically capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and handling items weighing up to 25 pounds. Job Requirements

Prior laundry experience preferred
Ability to operate and monitor washing and drying machines
Capable of identifying stains and damaged linens
Physical ability to move, lift, and handle laundry items
Ability to follow safety and security protocols
Good communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and quality standards

Job Qualifications

No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
No prior related work experience necessary
Ability to operate laundry machinery
Basic understanding of fabric types and laundry chemicals
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
Physical capability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 25 pounds
Willingness to adhere to safety policies and procedures

Job Duties

Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery
Add chemicals and clean lint traps
Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard
Inspect cleanliness of articles removed from machines and place in clean linen carts
Set dryers to appropriate times and temperatures based on fabric types
Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, filters, and drain traps after each use
Fold cleaned articles manually or using a folding machine
Maintain accurate records of laundered items
Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions
Participate in safety training and certifications
Maintain professional appearance and comply with company policies
Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality
Develop positive working relationships and support team goals
Identify and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost savings
Perform visual inspections of tools and equipment
Perform other duties as requested by supervisors
