Job Description

Our facility is a healthcare environment dedicated to providing high-quality care and a safe, clean living space for our residents. We are committed to maintaining a facility that meets all federal, state, and local regulations to ensure the health and well-being of everyone in our care. As an essential part of our team, the Laundry Department plays a critical role in supporting our residents by managing the laundering of linens, garments, and other washable items that are vital to daily operations and resident comfort.

The Laundry Attendant position is a hands-on, operational role responsible for executing daily laundry activities following strict compliance with safety, health, and sanitation standards. This role involves collaborating closely with other departments, particularly nursing services, to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of clean linens and garments. The laundry attendant will maintain the laundry processing equipment, manage chemical handling safely according to material safety data sheets, and ensure that laundry areas are kept orderly and free from hazards at all times.

In this role, the ideal candidate must demonstrate attention to detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness and safety practices. Adequate handling and proper use of personal protective equipment are required to safeguard both the employee and the residents against infectious materials. The individual will be tasked with assisting in emergency situations by distributing clean linens and other necessary items promptly to designated areas, contributing to the overall emergency preparedness of the facility.

This position involves physical work, including lifting, moving, and carrying weights of up to 25 pounds to a height of at least 5 feet and moving these weights across distances of up to 50 feet. The use of mechanical aids like back braces and lifts is encouraged to minimize injury risk. This role requires following both written and oral instructions carefully and maintaining communication with supervisors about operational issues, equipment maintenance, and supply needs.
