Job Description

National General Holdings Corp., a member of The Allstate Corporation family, is a specialty personal lines insurance holding company with roots dating back to 1939. Headquartered in New York City, National General provides a broad array of personal and commercial insurance products including automobile, homeowners, umbrella, recreational vehicle, motorcycle, supplemental health insurance, and other niche insurance products through a vast network of independent agents as well as direct to consumers. With a financial strength rating of A- (excellent) by A.M. Best, National General is recognized for its stability and commitment to meeting its customers' evolving insurance needs with innovative solutions and superior service.

The Large Loss Property Lead Consultant role within National General is an advanced and critical position responsible for managing some of the most complex and specialized homeowners insurance claims. This position supports the Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth markets but also extends assistance virtually across other regions for moderate to large losses. The consultant applies strategic expertise to investigate, confirm, and adjust high-value claims involving all aspects of homeowners property damage including contents, additional living expenses, dwelling losses, and supplements. Knowledge and experience with various peril types such as wind, hail, fire, storm, and water damage are essential. The consultant not only handles claims independently within their authority limits but also mentors and coaches junior members of the claims team to enhance overall performance and customer satisfaction.

The role demands strong analytical thinking, negotiation skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment ensuring timely and fair outcomes for customers. In addition, the consultant retains and expands expertise in residential construction, repair techniques, and emerging building methods, which is vital in assessing structural damages and repair costs accurately. Collaboration with subrogation and fraud investigation teams is also a key responsibility, enabling a comprehensive approach to claims handling and potential recovery processes. The position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $136,625 annually, based on experience and qualifications, alongside a potential $1,000 licensing sign-on bonus for eligible candidates holding required active licenses such as Home Resident Property & Casualty License or Appraiser License.

Joining National General means becoming part of a winning team that not only values technical expertise but also champions a culture where employees can grow professionally, challenge the status quo, and contribute meaningfully to the future of insurance protection. The organization emphasizes equal opportunity employment and inclusivity, respecting veterans and all protected groups. Employees benefit from comprehensive technology setups for remote work, including laptops, monitors, headsets, and monthly internet reimbursement for those eligible to work from home. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned insurance professional who thrives on delivering exceptional customer service and managing complex property claims while leading and mentoring a team of adjusters.
