Job Description

Walmart, one of the world’s largest and most recognized retail corporations, is committed to providing exceptional services and products to its customers. With a vast network of stores and facilities throughout the country, Walmart constantly maintains its properties to ensure an inviting, safe, and attractive environment for both customers and employees. As a leading retail employer, Walmart offers a diverse range of career opportunities and is now hiring for the positions of Landscape Technicians and Landscape Crew Driver Technicians. This hiring initiative includes a Virtual Hiring Event scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm CDT, providing a convenient way for interested candidates to learn more and apply.

The Landscape Technician and Landscape Crew Driver Technician roles are vital in preserving Walmart’s outdoor and facility environments. Landscape Technicians are responsible for maintaining the aesthetics and functionality of Walmart’s landscape through a variety of tasks including mowing lawns, irrigation management, power washing, snow removal, pruning, and fertilizing shrubs, lawns, bushes, trees, and flowers. This position demands a passion for working outdoors and the physical capability to perform labor-intensive tasks across various weather conditions.

Landscape Technicians also oversee facility maintenance projects that encompass landscaping, snow removal, and equipment servicing. Their responsibilities extend to planning work assignments, coordinating with external service providers, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations. Technicians play a significant role in troubleshooting issues and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships to support Walmart’s operational goals. Emphasizing quality, cost control, and continuous improvement, these technicians help maintain a safe, efficient, and sustainable environment across Walmart’s facilities.

The Landscape Crew Driver Technician shares many of the same landscaping and facility maintenance responsibilities but adds the element of operating combination motor vehicles ranging from 10,001 lbs to 26,000 lbs. This position requires a valid driver's license, proper certification, and the ability to safely manage these larger vehicles. Crew Drivers are tasked with handling the transportation of landscaping equipment and materials, necessitating a clean driving record, competence in vehicle operation, and the capacity to pass a road test specific to combination trucks and trailers. Their role extends beyond landscape maintenance to include ensuring safety and compliance in all driving-related activities.

Walmart values individuals who bring dedication, reliability, and a strong work ethic. Being comfortable in an outdoor work environment under various weather conditions such as heat, cold, or rain is crucial for success. Both roles demand physical stamina and an eagerness to engage in hands-on, maintenance-related tasks. In return, Walmart offers competitive benefits, including 401(k), health and dental insurance, life and vision insurance, paid time off, and employee discounts, enhancing job satisfaction and providing financial security for its team members.

If you are at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and have experience in commercial facility repair, maintenance, or landscaping including tasks such as mowing, herbicide application, or mulch installation, you may be an excellent fit. For Crew Driver Technician roles, candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid state-issued driver’s license for a minimum of three years, have a clean driving record, and be capable of passing a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and a specialized driver’s road test. The ability to obtain additional licensing as required by the state further strengthens your candidacy.

Join Walmart’s landscaping team and contribute to maintaining a welcoming and sustainable environment for millions. The in-person work location allows you to engage directly with Walmart’s facilities and team members. This opportunity not only offers a fulfilling career in landscaping and facility maintenance but also promotes growth within one of the world’s largest retail organizations. Don't miss the chance to participate in the virtual hiring event to explore these roles and discover how you can make a difference with Walmart.
