Rooted in a God-honoring culture, the company prides itself on its commitment to excellence, integrity, and the nurturing of its people. The Budd Group operates primarily in the landscape and facility maintenance industry, offering professional services that keep properties well-maintained, vibrant, and pest-free. Their long-standing presence in the Charlotte, North Carolina area has made them a trusted name for premier property maintenance in the region.
As a specialized landscape application company, The Budd Group emphasizes a supportive, professional environment where employees are entrusted with significant responsibility. The team values technical expertise and offers excellent career growth opportunities, competitive pay, and a respectful workplace culture. The company is known for its family-oriented atmosphere, community values, and commitment to treating employees with respect and dignity. The Budd Group also integrates modern benefits such as pay on demand, referral bonuses, and mental health and financial support, enhancing the overall employee experience.
This position is for a Pesticide Applicator situated at 1000 Amble Drive, Charlotte, NC 28206, operating on a Monday through Friday schedule with a steady 40-hour workweek starting at 7:00 AM. The salary range for this role is $22 to $26 per hour, based on experience. Employees enjoy weekends off and are supported by military-friendly policies and career advancement opportunities.
The role of Pesticide Applicator, also referred to as Landscape Application Specialist or Turf Care Technician within the company, is essential to maintaining the health and aesthetics of the properties under The Budd Group's care. As the "Plant Doctor," you are entrusted with diagnosing and treating the health of turf, trees, and shrubs, going beyond general maintenance tasks. This involves the precise mixing and application of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides, ensuring that properties remain vibrant and protected from pests and weeds.
As part of your work, you will monitor plant health regularly, identifying potential issues before they escalate. Safe operation and maintenance of both manual and electrical spray equipment and calibration tools are crucial elements of the job. You will also be implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles, following best practices for sustainable and effective pest control. Managing chemical inventory, ensuring safe storage, and preparing materials for application comprise other key responsibilities.
Candidates joining The Budd Group will bring a strong technical knowledge of plants and pest management coupled with a safety-first attitude and familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and chemical safety protocols. The job requires physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift weights of up to 50 pounds. Professionalism, a dependable nature, attention to detail, and a clean driving record are equally important.
Working with The Budd Group offers many advantages including a predictable work schedule that allows quality personal time, opportunities to advance through training and education, immediate access to earned wages with pay on demand, and the stability of working with an established yet forward-thinking company. The Budd Group values all employees and upholds equal opportunity employment practices, ensuring that every qualified applicant, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, disability, or veteran status, will be treated with fairness and respect.
