The Lancôme Counter/Business Manager role is a critical position within the luxury retail environment, embodying the brand's dedication to superior service and exceptional product knowledge. This position is employed by a retail partner on behalf of Lancôme, offering an hourly pay range of $18 to $22 depending on the location and candidate experience. The Manager serves as the face of Lancôme in stores, with a mission to maximize team effectiveness and elevate customer experiences through leadership, coaching, and hands-on involvement.
In this role, the manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Lancôme counter, ensuring that all aspects of the brand's business are run effectively to maximize retail sales. They maintain awareness of sales achievements relative to goals, provide mentoring and professional development to beauty advisors, manage customer events, and uphold the highest standards of luxury service. The manager is responsible for coordinating training sessions and developing team skills through ongoing education, including attending bi-annual training seminars hosted by Lancôme. They also cultivate essential relationships with retailer departments such as personal shoppers, special events directors, and visual merchandising teams to drive sales and brand presence.
This position requires a dynamic individual who demonstrates strong communication skills, leadership, and the ability to mentor staff in performance management and product expertise. The role includes hands-on duties such as managing inventory, store upkeep, and actively participating in the customer service process, including performing skincare services when trained and necessary. A flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays is expected due to business staffing needs.

Job Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of management experience in luxury or retail cosmetics environment
- Experience in clientele development working with professional sales associates
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and/or holidays
- Ability to perform skin care services after training
- Ability to work on sales floor for extended periods
- Ability to walk up/down stairs and/or ladder as necessary
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly
Job Qualifications
- Must have a high school degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years as a manager of a cosmetic retail team or single store location in a luxury or retail environment
- Two years of clientele development experience in working as or with professional sales associates
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable performing skin care services on customers’ faces after training on proper protocols
- Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Maintain awareness of existing competitive ranking and daily knowledge of all sales achievements vs. goal for staff
- Oversee training and development of staff
- Mentor and coach beauty advisors on product knowledge, performance, KPIs, and service behaviors
- Manage and execute all customer events held at store
- Review the status of the customer registry and sampling log with the team
- Maintain frequent communication with Lancôme Field Sales and Training Executives and Retailer Department Manager
- Establish relationships with key retailer departments (personal shopper, director of special events, visual)
- Regularly attend Lancôme-hosted seasonal training seminars twice a year and/or digital learning modules
- Oversee all aspects of the Lancôme business and maximize retail sales
- Manage cleaning, re-stocking and moving boxes with team
