The Lancôme Counter/Business Manager role embodies the brand’s commitment to excellence by focusing on maximizing team effectiveness and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This position is instrumental in representing the Lancôme brand within retail settings, typically employed by retail partners who manage the daily operations. The role emphasizes collaboration with Lancôme Field Sales and Training Executives and requires maintaining strong communication lines with retailer department managers and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and execution of brand initiatives.
This position holds responsibility for training and developing the store team of Beauty Advisors, assisting them in enhancing their product knowledge, improving performance, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs). The Lancôme Counter/Business Manager mentors and coaches team members, facilitating personal and professional growth by providing ongoing education on luxury skincare, makeup artistry, and service behavior. They oversee daily retail operations, including restocking, cleaning, and inventory management, to maintain an optimal retail environment. Additionally, the manager coordinates customer events hosted in-store, strengthening customer engagement and loyalty to the Lancôme brand.
The position requires active participation in seasonal training seminars hosted by Lancôme, along with digital learning opportunities to stay updated with the latest product innovations and luxury service standards. This commitment to continuous learning ensures that the manager and their team provide a superior customer experience driven by expert knowledge and passion for beauty.
Candidates for this role should demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable performing skincare services on clients where necessary, following comprehensive training and protocols. They must be physically capable of enduring extended periods on the sales floor and perform tasks involving some physical effort such as lifting boxes and navigating stairs or ladders.
Hourly compensation for the Lancôme Counter/Business Manager position ranges from $18 to $22 depending on location and experience, with the final employment offer and pay rate determined by the retailer partner. Candidates must be willing to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business staffing needs. Job Requirements
- Must have a high school degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years as a manager of a cosmetic retail team or single store location in a luxury or retail environment
- Two years of clientele development experience in working as or with professional sales associates
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, possibly including nights, weekends and/or holidays
- Comfortable performing skin care services on customers’ faces after training
- Must be able to work on the sales floor for extended periods
- Must be able to walk up and down a flight of stairs and/or ladder as necessary
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Maintain awareness of existing competitive ranking and daily knowledge of all sales achievements vs. goal for staff
- Oversee training and development of staff
- Mentor and coach beauty advisors on product knowledge, performance, KPIs, and service behaviors
- Manage and execute all customer events held at store
- Review the status of the customer registry and sampling log with the team
- Maintain frequent communication with Lancôme Field Sales and Training Executives and Retailer Department Manager
- Establish relationships with key retailer departments (personal shopper, director of special events, visual)
- Regularly attend Lancôme-hosted seasonal training seminars twice a year and/or digital learning modules
- Oversee all aspects of the Lancôme business and maximize retail sales
- Manage cleaning, re-stocking and moving boxes with team
