As a Host or Hostess at Flanigan's, you are the crucial first point of contact for every guest. Your role is pivotal in setting the tone of their entire dining experience, greeting customers with a sincere smile and engaging conversation known as Flanigan's "Smile Talk." You not only welcome guests warmly but also manage the flow of seating efficiently, ensuring that wait times are minimal and comfortable. In addition to seating guests, you respond to inquiries, assist with managing the waitlist, and maintain cleanliness around the foyer and hostess station, guaranteeing a polished and pleasant atmosphere.

Your responsibilities also include answering phones promptly, directing calls appropriately, and ensuring restrooms are clean and well-stocked for guest convenience. Throughout the guest's visit, you uphold the Flanigan's standard of hospitality by concluding their experience positively and courteously. Additionally, you assist with shift changes, opening and closing duties, and any other assigned side work to support the smooth operation of the restaurant.

The position requires a cheerful and courteous personality displayed alongside a neat and professional appearance. Physical stamina is important as you will be on your feet much of the time, frequently bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be engaging guests verbally and handling questions both in person and on the phone. Compliance with Florida's Responsible Vendor program and food safety certification is mandatory, underscoring the importance of safety and legal adherence in your role.
