The Server role at Harkins Theatres is central to enhancing the overall guest experience within the theatre environment. Being well-versed in the menu allows servers to answer guest questions competently, make informed recommendations, and effectively upsell items to enhance sales performance. Delivering orders to guests while adhering to Harkins' high standards is crucial, as is providing continuous service such as beverage refills and clearing tables promptly.
Servers must also handle payment transactions precisely and courteously, communicate effectively with management and team members, uphold cleanliness standards in work areas, and adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations. The role demands physical stamina due to the requirement to stand for extended periods and perform various physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and walking. Candidates need to have or be willing to obtain food handler certificates and complete Responsible Vendor Training to comply with legal and corporate policies. Job Requirements
- At least 19 years of age
- available to work nights, weekends and holidays
- able to work in a fast-paced, loud environment and stand for extended periods
- required to obtain and maintain a current food handler's card or food safety certification
- required to complete Responsible Vendor Training
- ability to bend, stretch, reach, squat, twist, stand, walk stairs and lift up to 50 pounds
- able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- possess basic math skills
- fiscally responsible and able to operate a point-of-sale system
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience in a high volume restaurant setting preferred

Job Duties
- Greet guests and make them feel comfortable by establishing a personal connection
- take accurate food and beverage orders to include item modifications and enter them into the POS or handheld device
- monitor call button notifications and guest requests
- knowledgeable of items sold at the theatre, able to answer questions, make recommendations and upsell
- deliver food and beverage orders to all tables and guests to Harkins' standards
- communicate promptly and courteously with all guests
- provide exemplary service to include refilling beverages, clearing tables and seats, while exceeding guest expectations
- accurately collect payment from guests
- communicate effectively with guests, management and all team members
- maintain a clean working environment and follow operating checklists
- ensure server stations are set up and stocked for service
- follow all applicable liquor laws and company policies
- understand and follow proper rules of hygiene and food safety measures
