Job Description

Herschend Family Entertainment is a renowned family-held themed attractions company, with a rich history spanning over 75 years. Originating from the enchanting discovery of an Ozark Mountain cave, the company has grown into the largest operator of immersive attractions globally, boasting 49 distinctive venues that captivate audiences of all ages. Herschend's core mission centers on bringing families closer together by creating memorable experiences that guests cherish and repeat. This purpose is brought to life through 'Heartspitality,' a unique blend of heartfelt service and genuine hospitality upheld by passionate hosts who embody dedication and warmth every day. As an equal opportunity employer, Herschend values inclusivity and strives to cultivate an environment where every host, guest, and partner feels welcome, respected, and valued. The company emphasizes that respectful words and actions are fundamental to its culture, reflecting its commitment to equality and positive workplace dynamics.

The Food & Beverage (F&B) Supervisor role at Lake Compounce, part of Herschend Family Entertainment, is a multifaceted position essential to the smooth operation of one or more F&B locations within the park. This seasonal position plays a pivotal role in managing daily operations, including overseeing food safety and sanitation processes, ensuring high-quality guest service, monitoring food preparation standards, and managing financial transactions and quality controls to uphold the company's standards. The supervisor leads and mentors the F&B team, serving as a role model by demonstrating Lake Compounce's core values and fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and positivity.

In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the F&B Supervisor actively participates in administrative duties such as timekeeping, reporting, and staff training aimed at enhancing the department's efficiency and safety compliance. This position demands a hands-on leader who is prepared to backfill various roles within the F&B team when necessary, ensuring continuous and seamless service during operational hours. The role is dynamic, requiring adaptability to fast-paced, high-pressure situations, a strong focus on guest satisfaction, and the ability to resolve escalated concerns with professionalism and a positive attitude.

Lake Compounce offers a vibrant work environment that combines the excitement of a theme park atmosphere with the responsibility of delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences. The F&B Supervisor must maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations, alcohol safety practices, and company policies to create a safe and enjoyable environment for both guests and colleagues. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing inventory and coordinating with other departments like maintenance and the warehouse.

This role also supports compliance with Connecticut labor laws, including proper meal breaks and scheduling, reflecting the company's commitment to fair and lawful employment practices. Ideal candidates are at least 18 years old, possess prior experience in food service or supervisory roles, and exhibit a safety-oriented mindset alongside exceptional customer service capabilities. Proficiency or certification in food handling, preferably ServSafe or an equivalent, is necessary or must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Bilingual language skills, especially in Spanish, are considered a plus, reflecting the diverse guest demographics served.

Working as a Food & Beverage Supervisor at Lake Compounce means joining a team dedicated to creating joyful, memorable experiences in a fun, flexible work setting. The position is physically engaging, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, including exposure to variable weather. Team members enjoy numerous benefits such as flexible scheduling, opportunities for cross-training, free admission to Lake Compounce and all Palace Entertainment parks on days off, and invitations to exclusive employee events. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking seasonal employment, whether starting their careers, balancing a second job, or staying active post-retirement. Join Lake Compounce to be part of an innovative, supportive company where making people happy is at the heart of every role.
