Job Description

Martis Camp is an acclaimed private community nestled in the picturesque Tahoe region, renowned for over twenty years for setting the standard in extraordinary mountain living. Located in the heart of Truckee, California, Martis Camp offers a unique blend of natural beauty, world-class amenities, and a strong sense of community. This private community is more than just a place to reside—it is a place where families and friends gather to experience an unrivaled lifestyle enveloped by breathtaking scenery and thoughtfully designed spaces. The community is centered around an exceptional collection of amenities including the iconic Camp Lodge, Family Barn, Lake Club, Lost Library, and a signature golf course designed by Tom Fazio. Members enjoy a dynamic four-season experience offering recreation, dining, wellness, and outdoor adventure, all seamlessly integrated into daily life.

Martis Camp is currently seeking a dedicated Lake Club Valet to join their hospitality team for their busy summer season. This is a part-time role available from mid-June to late September, with shifts typically ranging from 8am to 7pm, including weekends and holidays. The position offers an hourly wage of $22 to $24, complemented by a suite of benefits such as one complimentary employee meal per day, Martis Camp gear when required, participation in recognition and incentive programs, access to ambassador clinics, and discounts at retail, spa, and golf shops. Scholarship opportunities and other rewards are also provided in line with the Ambassador Handbook.

The Lake Club Valet is a vital ambassador of "The Martis Experience," serving as the first point of contact for members, extended family, and guests arriving at the Lake Club. This role requires a warm, professional presence combined with efficiency and attention to detail to ensure the seamless operation of vehicle parking and member service. Responsibilities include greeting guests upon arrival, opening and closing vehicle doors with courtesy, safely parking vehicles on-site and in the off-site lot, and accurately logging vehicle details using dedicated valet software. The valet must prioritize safety with careful driving practices and facilitate smooth vehicle flow by coordinating with management and other staff via radio communication.

Beyond parking duties, the position extends to supporting other Lake Club operations such as assisting with beach and game setup and equipment handling like kayaks, paddleboards, and other watercraft. Valets may also assist in guest transportation services such as running beachgoers to and from boats in a dinghy with an outboard motor, contingent on training. The role demands a proactive mindset focused on anticipating guest needs, exceeding expectations, and fostering positive rapport within a team environment that spans multiple hospitality disciplines.

This position requires significant physical stamina given the need to stand and remain active for extended periods while lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds over varying terrain including asphalt, sand, and indoor flooring. Candidates must have at least three years of driving experience with a clean driving record and the ability to operate vehicles safely, preferably with manual driving skills. The role includes working in variable weather conditions and requires a dependable, safety-conscious individual capable of maintaining high ethical standards and excellent organizational skills.

In summary, becoming a Lake Club Valet at Martis Camp offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a prestigious private community dedicated to delivering an outstanding member experience. The role not only emphasizes exceptional guest service but also teamwork, safety, and a strong connection to the community's vibrant lifestyle. Ideal candidates will bring a service-oriented attitude, physical capability, and effective communication skills. Working at Martis Camp means joining a team where your contributions directly enhance the memorable experiences cherished by members, creating a welcoming environment where both guests and employees feel valued and respected.
