Job Description
Martis Camp Club, located in the picturesque Tahoe Vista, is a prestigious private club offering an exclusive and welcoming environment for its members and their guests. Renowned for its commitment to exceptional service and creating memorable experiences, Martis Camp Club is dedicated to providing a superior standard of hospitality across its various amenities. Among these is the Lake Club, a vibrant and dynamic social hub where members enjoy fine food and beverages in a relaxed, yet refined setting. The club focuses heavily on the member experience, ensuring every interaction is marked by professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine care.
The Lake Club Bartender role at Martis Camp is integral to upholding these high standards. As the first point of contact for members and their guests at the bar, the bartender plays a critical role in delivering quality service efficiently and with a warm, engaging attitude. This position is seasonal, with both part-time and full-time opportunities available from late May through late September, including weekends and holidays. The shifts are generally around eight hours, with operating hours possibly spanning from 8 AM to 7 PM.
Bartenders at the Lake Club are expected to have extensive knowledge of the bar menu, including specialty cocktails, wines, beers, and liquor, along with the ability to use accurate pouring and cocktail techniques. They also need to maintain stock levels securely and assist with serving when necessary. Beyond mixology skills, the role demands exceptional interpersonal abilities to greet members, anticipate their needs, and build lasting relationships. Bartenders support the broader team by maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring all food and beverage orders are accurate and meet quality standards.
The position emphasizes teamwork and communication, requiring the bartender to liaise with kitchen staff and other team members to coordinate service seamlessly. This collaborative effort ensures that members receive prompt and attentive service that exceeds expectations, reinforcing Martis Camp's reputation for excellence. Moreover, the bartender helps foster a friendly and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall member experience.
Physical stamina and the ability to work in varying conditions, including outdoors, are important due to the nature of the role within the Lake Club setting. Candidates must be certified by an accredited California Food Handlers Safe program, underscoring the club’s commitment to health and safety standards. The role also includes responsibilities such as opening and closing duties, maintaining cleanliness, monitoring food allergies, and complying with all club regulations.
Martis Camp Club offers a competitive wage for this position, ranging from $19 to $22 per hour plus gratuities. This role is an excellent opportunity for hospitality professionals seeking a seasonal role in a stunning location with a professional work environment that values integrity, attention to detail, and exceptional guest service. Martis Camp prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer that fosters diversity and inclusion within its workforce.
