Laboratory Technician - Night Shift

The role at Neogen centers around high-throughput genomic data generation and molecular biology laboratory work, critical to supporting the company's mission of genomic innovation. The position involves performing various molecular biology tasks including sample and reagent preparation, DNA extraction and isolation, quality analysis preceding genotyping, and numerous related laboratory techniques. The successful candidate will operate essential electronic and robotic equipment such as liquid handling robots, multichannel pipettes, and electronic repeaters, ensuring consistency and quality in laboratory procedures within a fast-evolving environment. The role demands meticulous maintenance of detailed, accurate records like laboratory notebooks, lot tracking, sample archives, and entries into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Additional responsibilities include assisting in training new team members like technicians, assistants, and interns to effectively manage the laboratory workload, as well as providing valuable input on process improvements aimed at maximizing efficiency. The position requires coordination of ordering and inventory management for supplies, reagents, and consumables specific to platforms used. Instrument calibration, preventive maintenance, adherence to cleaning protocols, and ensuring a safe, compliant environment are crucial aspects of the job. The candidate will consistently follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), support ISO procedures and quality standards, and perform other duties assigned by the manager.
