The Mount Laurel, NJ office presents an exciting full-time Soils Laboratory Technician position within the firm’s Geotechnical Engineering Group. TRC’s geotechnical services encompass a full spectrum, supported by a drilling division, an accredited soil mechanics and rock testing laboratory (ASTM/AASHTO), pile dynamic analysis testing, vibration monitoring, and commercial construction inspection. These divisions work synergistically to deliver high-quality, cost-effective geotechnical design solutions across a variety of project types. Though the team serves projects nationwide, the primary regional focus includes PA, NJ, NY, MA, CT, VA, WV, OH, DE, DC, and MD.

This role primarily involves assisting with the visual classification and laboratory testing of soil and rock samples. However, the position may also include various office and field tasks, such as aiding engineers with report preparation, site investigation inspections, and logging activities. Additionally, the technician will perform in-situ testing related to stormwater management facility design and quality control testing for earthwork and foundation construction activities. TRC offers full training for all aspects of job responsibilities, ensuring employees are well-prepared to handle the diverse requirements of the role.

The work environment varies with on-site conditions, including exposure to wet, humid, cold, hot, dusty, or noisy environments where noise levels can range from moderate to moderately loud. Employees should be prepared for potential overtime, overnight travel (in-state or out-of-state), and occasional weekend work. This role offers an hourly compensation within the range of USD $22.36 to USD $24.00, subject to experience, education, skill level, and other factors. Employees may also be eligible for participation in the company’s annual discretionary bonus program, determined by overall company, business segment, and individual performance.
