With a strong presence in the industry, IEH Labs has established itself as a trusted partner for clients ranging from food manufacturers to governmental agencies. Situated in Salinas, California, the facility plays a crucial role in upholding the highest standards of food safety by providing cutting-edge testing and quality assurance services. Known for its state-of-the-art technology and dedicated team of experts, IEH Laboratories is focused on continuous innovation and compliance with regulatory requirements to help mitigate risks associated with food-borne illnesses and contaminants. The company fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values integrity, quality, and the professional growth of its employees. IEH Laboratories provides full-time employment opportunities along with a competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits package to attract and retain top talent in the field.
The Laboratory Courier/Lab Aid role at IEH Laboratories is essential to the seamless operation of the testing process, serving as the vital link between customers and the laboratory. This position involves safely transporting lab samples from various client locations to the Salinas facility on a fixed schedule, ensuring the integrity and timely delivery of specimens for analysis. Beyond courier duties, the role includes general laboratory cleaning and performing other assigned tasks to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the laboratory environment. Candidates must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while handling multiple responsibilities with strong attention to detail and organizational skills. The position requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds above waist level and regular lifting of up to 30 pounds, underlining the physical demands of the job. Employees will begin their training on the day shift, transitioning to rotating afternoon or night shifts afterward, with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as the laboratory operates 24/7.
The hourly pay range for this position is $16.90 to $17.50, plus a $2.00 differential for night shifts, reflecting the company’s commitment to fairly compensating employees for their work. The role is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package following a brief waiting period, including medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending accounts for health and dependent care, an employee assistance program, paid time off for vacation and sick leave, paid bereavement days, and paid holidays. Due to workplace exposure to food allergens, candidates with moderate-to-severe food allergies are advised not to apply, ensuring safety and wellbeing for all staff. IEH Laboratories values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer, encouraging veterans and individuals with disabilities to apply. Comprehensive application instructions are provided, including submission of a combined PDF document containing a cover letter, resume, and references through the company’s official portal.
