Job Requirements

  • valid New York RN license
  • at least five years recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
  • ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care
  • strong communication skills
  • capability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
  • willingness to rotate shifts including nights and weekends
  • competency in accurate clinical documentation and use of electronic health records

Job Qualifications

  • active New York RN license
  • minimum of five years recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
  • strong clinical skills in labor, delivery, and postpartum care
  • effective teamwork and communication abilities
  • experience with electronic medical records and documentation
  • knowledge of perinatal quality improvement initiatives
  • ability to precept new staff and serve in charge nurse roles

Job Duties

  • champion family-centered birthing care in a collaborative, high-acuity setting
  • partner closely with obstetricians, certified nurse-midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and lactation consultants
  • manage precise documentation and participate in performance improvement and Magnet-driven initiatives
  • precept new team members and assume charge responsibilities on rotation
  • provide care across triage, labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum stages in about a dozen LDR suites and dedicated OB operating rooms
  • support cost stewardship and unit flow as part of charge nurse duties
  • deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to a diverse patient population
