The Lab Technologist - Chemistry position at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens is a full-time role with a shift from midnight to 8:00 AM, including alternating weekend coverage. This position is vital for the laboratory operations, focusing on conducting a variety of automated and manual chemical tests on laboratory specimens to gather critical data used for diagnostic and therapeutic decisions. The technologist is responsible for performing both STAT (urgent) and routine testing with precision and efficiency. Attention to detail is paramount, particularly to meet quality control standards and troubleshoot instrument issues as needed. Working with the Meditech lab information system is integral to this role to manage data entry and testing procedures accurately. The job is suitable for experienced professionals with at least two years in clinical laboratory settings, though new graduates are also welcome to apply. Board certification (ASCP or NCA) is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology alongside the Clinical Laboratory Technologist license from the New York State Education Department.
