Job Requirements
- College coursework in chemistry, physics, biology or related sciences preferred
- Previous experience in a laboratory with analytical instruments is a plus
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to quickly learn software and applications used for chemical tests and analysis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- College coursework in chemistry, physics, biology or related sciences preferred
- Previous experience with analytical instruments such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GC, or HPLC is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Good mathematical skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to learn new software quickly
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Job Duties
- Conduct testing and analyses of water, soil and plant tissue using established methods
- Follow standard operating procedures to prepare plant and soil samples while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Collect data, perform calculations and prepare accurate reports in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate, thorough and up-to-date files, logs and laboratory notebooks
- Prepare reagents and chemical solutions daily
- Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on lab equipment
- Maintain safety in all phases of job performance including chemical handling and operating lab instruments
