We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Supervisor specializing in Chemistry to join our team. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, with additional weekend duties as required. The role involves managing the daily operations of three chemistry labs located at Red Road, Douglas Road Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED), and Memorial Healthcare Park (MHP) main lab. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in chemistry and general/core laboratory practices, coupled with strong leadership capabilities. This supervisory role requires a passionate professional dedicated to upholding high standards in laboratory testing, quality control, and staff competency.

The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely testing of specimens in compliance with established protocols. This position plays a critical role in overseeing laboratory quality control, instrument maintenance, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will lead and mentor laboratory staff, coordinate staffing schedules, assess team competencies, and manage resources efficiently. A significant part of the role includes helping to develop training materials, competency assessment tools, and facilitating staff development programs to maintain a knowledgeable and capable team. The supervisor also provides input into budget processes and inventory management, all while fostering a positive, productive work environment that supports organizational objectives.

Candidates should possess advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and information systems, alongside excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Supervisory experience of at least three years within a medical laboratory setting is required. Additionally, the role demands the ability to perform method validations and ongoing assessments to continuously improve laboratory test accuracy and reliability. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a Clinical Lab Supervisor License (SU License) registered in the State of Florida. You must be able to thrive in a dynamic, sometimes high-pressure, environment, and make decisive judgments while working independently.
