This employment opportunity is for the role of Laboratory Assistant, a vital member within the clinical laboratory team. The Laboratory Assistant position is offered on a per diem contractor basis, with variable shifts that offer flexibility to accommodate diverse schedules. This role is essential in supporting laboratory operations by performing sample processing, clerical tasks, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. The Laboratory Assistant functions under strict guidelines as required by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and the California Business and Professions Codes, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and test accuracy. Although the Laboratory Assistant position does not involve analysis or interpretation of test results, the role demands consistent and detailed attention to specimen handling, quality control support, and equipment maintenance.
