Job Description
Kress Food Hall is a distinguished culinary destination situated in the heart of Downtown El Paso. Known for its historic significance and iconic Art Deco architecture, the food hall blends cultural heritage with a modern dining experience. This revitalized landmark acts as a vibrant community hub bringing together a diverse collection of local culinary vendors. Each vendor contributes to a unique food and social experience that attracts both residents and visitors to the downtown area. The establishment’s commitment to fostering community spirit, supporting local businesses, and contributing to the economic and cultural revitalization of Downtown El Paso makes it a cornerstone of the city’s food and event scene.
The Food and Beverage Kitchen Manager role at Kress Food Hall is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing all back-of-house (BOH) operations within this multi-vendor food hall. This role requires the management of shared kitchens, prep areas, and storage spaces to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and cleanliness. The Kitchen Manager plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with food safety regulations and health department standards while also supporting both the food hall leadership and individual vendors. Duties encompass everything from coordinating shared equipment usage, managing workflow efficiencies, conducting safety and sanitation inspections, to tracking vendor certifications and permits.
This role demands a hands-on manager who can lead initiatives to reduce waste, improve operational efficiency, and maintain consistent sanitation and safety standards. The Kitchen Manager is expected to create an environment where vendors can operate smoothly, with clear guidance on procedures, safety protocols, and proper equipment use. Collaborating with the food hall’s leadership team on operational planning and vendor performance is also a key aspect of the position, as is supporting special event logistics and ensuring the food hall is always inspection-ready. This full-time position is ideal for a seasoned professional with at least 3 to 5 years of back-of-house experience, preferably in a multi-concept or commercial kitchen environment, looking to make a significant impact in a thriving community-focused space. The role requires physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, and occasional lifting, with the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and company holidays. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a historic and growing food hall that actively shapes the cultural and economic revitalization of Downtown El Paso.
