Job Description

The Minnesota Jewish Community Center (JCC) is a vibrant and inclusive organization dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals from all backgrounds, ages, and abilities through a broad spectrum of culturally-rooted and contemporary programs. Located at the Sabes Center in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, the JCC nurtures community well-being and fosters a strong sense of belonging guided by Jewish values and traditions. Its diverse program portfolio includes Early Childhood Education, Summer Camps, Health & Wellness, Recreation, Youth & Teen Programming, Adult Enrichment, Inclusion Programming, Senior Supportive Services, Jewish Arts & Culture, and Special Community Events, all aimed at supporting the growth and connection of the entire community in meaningful ways.

The role of Kosher Lunch Program Assistant is a part-time position based at the Sabes Center that involves supporting the Enrichment Program Coordinator to successfully manage the Kosher Lunch program. This program provides participants with access to kosher meals in an environment that respects Jewish dietary laws and cultural practices. The assistant’s responsibilities include distributing kosher lunches, maintaining precise records for program oversight, and providing general administrative support as required. Working approximately 5 to 6 hours per week on Tuesdays and Fridays during the lunch period from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, this role is ideal for someone passionate about serving the community and committed to excellence.

The position demands strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively within a team, and a positive attitude aimed at delivering exceptional customer service. Candidates should have knowledge of kosher practices, Jewish culture, or demonstrate a willingness to learn these to enhance the program’s cultural authenticity. Additionally, the role requires adherence to the highest professional and ethical standards, including abuse risk management protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

Physical aspects of the job include activities such as bending, crouching, reaching, and lifting, alongside regular verbal communication. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. The Minnesota JCC prides itself on its commitment to equity, diversity, environmental stewardship, and social justice, making this an excellent opportunity for those who share these values and seek to contribute meaningfully to a respected community institution. The position offers a meaningful part-time employment opportunity within an organization renowned for inclusivity and impact.
