SkyChefs is recognized as a leader in aviation culinary and airline services, combining operational excellence with innovative culinary approaches to set industry standards. The company fosters a dynamic workplace environment that values teamwork, growth, leadership, and impact, offering career opportunities that extend beyond typical job roles.

The Korean Cuisine Sous Chef role at SkyChefs represents a unique opportunity to be a key player in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment that emphasizes quality and creativity. This position demands a motivated culinary professional capable of managing kitchen operations efficiently while ensuring that every dish prepared meets the highest standards of authenticity and quality, particularly focusing on Korean cuisine. The Sous Chef will play a vital role in overseeing the preparation of traditional Korean dishes, from seasoning and marinating to cooking, while collaborating closely with a talented culinary team.

In this role, the Sous Chef is expected to mentor and inspire team members, fostering culinary excellence and innovation. You will be involved in inventory management, ingredient procurement, and maintaining budgetary control by minimizing waste and optimizing resources. Additionally, crafting new Korean menu items for client presentations and ensuring strict adherence to HACCP and hygiene standards are critical components of the position. The role also includes acting on customer feedback to enhance food quality and service.

SkyChefs offers a competitive salary range of $68,338.70 to $85,423.59 for this on-site position located in Los Angeles, California (ZIP code 90045). The company also provides comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage starting from day one, employer-paid life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacations, sick time, holidays, tuition reimbursement, free meals and parking, and abundant career growth opportunities within a global organization.

This position requires a culinary professional with 3-5 years of experience in high-volume or specialty kitchens, specifically within authentic Korean cuisine. Culinary school certification or successful completion of an apprenticeship is mandatory, and fluency in both Korean and English is necessary to communicate effectively within the team and meet the role's demands. Prior experience in airline catering is considered an advantage. Candidates must have a strong attention to detail, be committed to quality, and be knowledgeable about food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP). The ability to work a predetermined schedule aligned with daily production timelines is also essential.
